suggesting the four temperature points to be 28, 31, 34, 37 degree Celsius. Also, there are the rectal probes, vitalsense pills and the treadmills to be calibrated as well. Our usual practice is to calibrate about 30% of the pills we are going to use (6 out of 20 pills). The four temperature points for the probes and pills will be 36, 38, 40, 42 degree Celsius. Please note that the pills are to be calibrated only on the day before use, as the Vitalsense pills can not be switched off once activated.

Also, from now on, the water bath is supposedly for pill calibration only. Please follow the standardised steps of washing the water bath before and after you put the water bottles in the water bath during the trial.

1. Wash with detergent

2. Rinse with tap water thoroughly 5 times

3. Spray liberally with 70% alcohol and wipe dry

4. Rinse with tap water 5 times

5. Fill with tap water for use

6. Cover with aluminium foil after use
